(Interamerican Institute for Democracy) The flagrant electoral fraud and crimes committed by Evo Morales and his regime catalyzed the “Bolivian nation” that had endured for more than a decade Castrochavism’s supplanting, falsifications, massacres and other crimes when it eliminated the Republic of Bolivia and imposed its Plurinational State founded on racial confrontation. The Bolivian nation reacted with massive town-hall open demonstrations that birthed a civil resistance movement and young leadership. In the wake of almost three weeks of civil resistance, Evo Morales is now a dictator who has been defeated by the Bolivian nation and is solely sustained by the Castrochavist intervention.
The need to recognize the Bolivian nation, historically, originates in the Chaco War in which young Bolivians from diverse regions, cultures, social and economic conditions fought as one unified national force. The National Revolution of 1952 further implemented the building of the Bolivian nation with; the granting of universal voting rights that made all Bolivian citizens equal throughout the land, with an agrarian reform that made Bolivians land owners and potential entrepreneurs, with an educational reform that established free and compulsory education, and with a reform to the military system in order to institutionalize the nation’s Armed Forces.
The concept and existence of the Bolivian nation, a mongrel or mestizo nation, diverse yet unique, is built upon and is sustained through “an alliance of classes” and not through a fight between classes. It continued and evolved this way until 2009, a year in which through the Castrochavist inspired constitution “the fight between races” is introduced through the acknowledgement of the existence of 36 nations in Bolivia’s territory and with the elimination of the Republic and the establishment of a plurinational state. This has got to be the greatest crime committed by Evo Morales to destroy the “Bolivian nation” and cannot be taken as anything but treason to the homeland when he delivered Bolivia to foreign intervention and Transnational Organized Crime that, at that time, was presented as the Bolivarian Movement, or 21st Century Socialism, but that now is known as Castrochavism.
We must remember that the elimination of the Bolivian nation, presented as a native, indigenous act by Evo Morales in his role of a fake indigenous native, is but an application of the motto that calls for “multiplying the axis of confrontation” imposed by the Forum of Sao Paolo which, since its creation, has used “racism”, “indigenism”, “regionalism” -as in the Bolivian case- as tools to obliterate the concept of “national unity” in order to enable intervention, end democracy and impose its dictatorial system. In Bolivia, Castrochavism counterfeited and manipulated indigenism to make it a token of the “fight” to displace “national indigenism” that is incorporated as an essential component of the “alliance” mentioned above for the construction and development of the Bolivian nation.
This brief historical summary of the Bolivian nation and its fight to exist and survive, shows why the civil resistance movement against Evo Morales’ Castrochavist dictatorship is possible and is successful. It is an acknowledgement that we Bolivians are, and want to be, Bolivians, something we have proclaimed and done for generations, highlighting the principle of having “unity in diversity”, accepting our mongrel or mestizo condition and our regional and cultural differences as elements of national wealth for the building of a common nation that exists and whose maturity is now on display.
Because there exists a Bolivian nation, the confrontation in Bolivia is between the regime and Bolivia’s people, it is between Evo Morales and Bolivians, between the Castrochavist transnational intervention and the defense of the homeland. This is why the symbol of freedom and democracy in Bolivia is the Bolivian national flag (red, yellow, and green) and the battle cry of the civil resistance is the Bolivian national anthem in whose lyrics it says “to die before as a slave to live …” This is also why the request for the dictator’s resignation is national, and why there is a so-called mutiny, when in reality it is a concerted national institutional uprising, of the entire Bolivian Police against the regime. This is also why the corrupted high command of the Armed Forces has not been able to continue their servitude to the regime and has been neutralized under pressure by military members who abide by the Bolivian nation’s doctrine.
Only Castrochavism’s violent and criminal intervention sustains Evo Morales, with the personal and direct involvement of Carlos Rafael Zamora, AKA “El Gallo” who serves as Cuba’s ambassador in Bolivia. Bottom line; the dictator is defeated, the enemy identified, and the Bolivian nation is unified and mobilized.
