(Interamerican Institute for Democracy) The fight for freedom and democracy in Venezuela has passed from stagnation to a clear lead favoring the dictatorship that has been able to return to “negotiations” as an ingredient of the Castroist Chavist dictatorships to retain power. The Norway’s initiative that now continues in the Barbados, favors the dictatorship and is a trap with which -while simulating that concessions are being made- the regime will continue holding power without neither; ending the usurpation, nor allowing for there to be a transitional government, until “elections in dictatorship” are held.
Castroist Chavist dictatorships’ basic strategy in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Bolivia -which is the result of Cuban dictatorship’s successful application of criminal methods to keep itself in power for over 60 years- consists of “to resist, to destabilize democracies, to politicize their situation, and to negotiate”.
The concrete reality shows that in Venezuela the regime exerts de-facto power and retains it by committing all sorts of crime to terrorize its population, disorganize the opposition, and dissuade democracy’s allies. The increase of strife and of social and political destabilization actions is evident in those countries that pressure the dictatorships. Venezuela’s dictatorship that is part of, and directs Organized Crime, has strengthened its actions to present its crimes as political, socialist, revolutionary and even as actions of self-defense of the legal government. As always, the dictatorship attains the need for “negotiations”.
Dialogue or negotiation has already caused the initial damage of; restoring Nicolas Maduro’s condition as an “international character” even though he was declared an “usurper” of power, and to conceal Cuba’s occupation, all while making Juan Guaido’s position as “President and Head of State” questionable, and who is now only accepted as President of the National Assembly.
To see Guaido justifying mediation negotiations sponsored by Norway – a country that does not even recognize him as Venezuela’s President in Charge- is reminiscent of Cuba’s role in the negotiations of the FARC with Colombia where the Cuban dictatorship acted as “impartial” despite it known illicit association with the narco-guerrilla now turned into a political party, with obvious results.
It is very treacherous that negotiations are neither directed to the recognition of Juan Guaido as President, nor to the removal of the dictatorship or the ending of the usurpation, and -least of all- to the establishment of a Transitional Government to replace the minimum conditions of democracy for free and fair elections to be held with the guarantees of the “rule of law”.
Negotiations are maneuvered so that Maduro will continue holding power until -with some fine tuning- “elections in a dictatorship” will be guaranteed to be held between November of this year and March of next year, in which Maduro will not be the candidate, but the regime will participate as a legitimized political party placing Hugo Chavez’s daughter in the ballot, along with all of the ill-procured money, it could even win a divided opposition and an opposition defeated in the negotiations.
Because of these shenanigans, Maduro will stay in power one more year, will not be a candidate, will transfer the presidency to his successor and thus he will have guaranteed his impunity and that of his criminal inner circle. If they do not win the arranged elections, they will remain as a political force that will prevent the government from governing, will protect the Castroist Chavist system, and will be bent in causing -in the short range- the new government to decline. They will pass from being a criminal organization to being a political party with power and impunity.
In this context, Guaido will have not ever been the President in Charge and his international recognition by over 50 countries will be history’s most notable embarrassment. The law for the Transition to Democracy and its misguided agenda of “stopping the usurpation, establishing (sic) a transitional government, and holding (sic) free elections” will show to have expressly hindered Guaido to form a transitional government and hold power to end the usurpation. Venezuela will continue being a narco-state and the criminal groups will become “members” of the legitimized political party of the dictatorship. Something akin to have allowed the negotiated departure of Hitler and the remaining of the Nazi party in Germany.
This way, Venezuela will not end its crisis, millions of Venezuelans will not return to their homeland, the Castroist Chavist system will have ensured its criminal -disguised as political- permanency in the Americas, and countries therein will continue to be threatened by the group of Transnational Organized Crime directed by Cuba’s dictatorship. Negotiations, as an ingredient of the Castroist Chavist system’ strategy and as a good trap, will have accomplished the change so that nothing will change.
